Hmmm… Ableton… a “loop-based software music sequencer.” (Wikipedia is our friend. ^^) Digital audio workstation (DAW) software. Hardware merging/melding to become not just music composition tools but actual performance instruments. Verrry interesting.
And, hey, if an advanced civilization has finally picked up the choice signals you’ve been sending out into space for the past many years, you’d better throw a case of “CRUNK!!!” in the trunk, too, before they whisk you off for ‘once around the galaxy and then home for coffee.’ LOL ;-P Please drop by Alpha Centauri and make sure there are no ‘hyperspace by-pass’ plans on file, while you’re at it, will you? ^^ Just watch who you hitch a ride with because some of those galactic flyboys have bad reputations. :-O If you pick up any vibes about “experiments” or “probes,” back away slooowly. ;-P It’s funny, Dave Navarro was interviewing Whitley Streiber (author of “Communion” and other novels) awhile back and wanted to know how to invite extraterrestrials to pick him up or do a “meet and greet.” ^^ I’d go for a ’spin’ in a heartbeat, if they were happy, fun, happenin’ ETs and had no funky history of traumatizing bovines.
Interestingly enough, scientists have started examining the chemical composition of comets and are forming tentative hypotheses that the ‘organic soup,’ if you will, comprising comets might form the basis for the development of life when the comets ‘crash’ into other celestial bodies. Like so: http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v283/n5749/abs/283748a0.html Bonus points for the “8 Mile” reference… very funny. LOL
