Posted in: Uncategorized

ColD and BLack………black…..like squid ink spreading across rice paper…….and like the squid – dEEp seA coLd and just as lost behind my eyes………small fragments of sleep
High noon becomes an ansel adams ? Problem : he ran out of ink in the printer and were only left with sIlvEr 9A ———- I.E. One shade of gRey
Reduced, mAde naRRow – heart as limp as the As the monochrome paper falling out of old fuck faces malfunctioning printer
I take up shield and spear to slay the beast of sleep, the beast created for me by the most modern of sciences……….my head is bubble wrap with its veRy BLOOD made fOul
Who took the damn ink cartridge !!!!!!!! Spins, a windmill Just small enough to fit in my brain……..as lie, as lie, as I lie awake waiting for the squid to slide up my spINe and deliver the INK…………………COLD and BLaCK One more broken ship drifting away

    Ironically, if I wasn’t a chronic and infamous insomniac, I wouldn’t have read this, now, and I’d probably have much less *interesting* dreams when I grab a nap, eventually. ^^ (Sigh… giant squids running around alllll over the place, easy to predict–thanks, in advance! ^^ Tentacles… why did it have to be *tentacles.* ;-P) Daaaang… That settles it. You *have* to write a book, in between doing the 100,000 other things you’re working on, because you and your collective Muses create the most amazing imagery, metaphors, prose and poetry. I don’t usually wish people sleepless nights… ^^ (And I *really* don’t, if they’re suffering :-( or if it adversely affects their ability to be bright and clear the following day.) But, if this is what comes of it… *shakes head in admiration* Of course, I wish you peaceful slumber. (If you believed in sleep, that is, and I didn’t have a quote from you sitting on my computer desk to the exact contrary… ^^) But, with a mind as fascinating and intricate as yours, no wonder it doesn’t want to stop spinning its wheels. That has never been my problem… When I do nap, I’m out like a light. I just don’t nap *much* or at times that coincide with most other people’s schedules, unless they have fangs ^^ or play late night gigs. ;-) I hope your brain locates a working cartridge, my friend, and that rejuvenating sleep soon follows. But, until it does, keep a pen and pad or keyboard close by. It’s like the scene from the movie “Ishtar” where Dustin Hoffman and Warren Beatty’s characters are wandering, faint from sunstroke, out in the desert writing (in their particular case, horrendous ^^) song lyrics and they say “this is some of our best stuff!” ;-) I have the reverse conundrum… my brain writes poetry while I’m napping and I can’t remember it to write it down when I wake up. ^^ I think I’ve already told you most of my bag of tricks when it comes to courting the Sandman… place a nice hot pack like a magic bag around your neck, drink warm spiced milk, put on an Enya CD, read something snooze-worthy… To help shut my brain down, sometimes I’ll make a list of things to do for the next few days or any outstanding issues–that lets me set those items aside instead of keeping them turning around in my mind. Or, listen to an Owl drone on for awhile… that method is a *surefire* and foolproof ticket to the Land of Nod. ;-) {{{Johnny}}}

    u must concentrate on a pure white light in your third eye. then allow yourself to feel bathed in sunshine,………….. hopefully that should work, and if it doesnt,dont think 2 yourself i gotta go 2 sleep just allow yourself to be, B-)

    Postscript: *Somewhere on the West Coast, in the wee morning hours, the tranquil scene is shattered as an Owl sits bolt upright from a sound nap, hollers “SQUIDS!!!” and then abruptly falls back into nap mode* ^^ Kidding… ;-) Hope you got some rest, bro. {{{Johnny}}} I’ve had insomnia and disrupted nap patterns for so many decades, now, that it has become second nature/alter eagle for me. ^^ But, I feel for folks that have to operate during regularly scheduled hours and for whom adopting a more nocturnal lifestyle is not an ideal option. Not everyone is cut out to go through life with feathers. ;-)
