Elvis Costello “Toledo” & Homemade Fresh Fruit Icecicles

I was recently making this recipe trying to decide what my next food and music pairing was going to be. I regularly make these delicious snacks. That’s when it hit me that something so close to home should definately be thrown into the Politely Disruptive Radio Musical Mastication.

It did however take me 3 days to decide what song to pair the frozen fruitness with as it had to be perfect. In between innings of the Braves vs Nationals game I watched a few moments of Austin Powers and that is when it hit me. There sat Burt Bacharat and Elvis Costello on a random restaurant patio playing music together. It was spring, or it at least looked like it, and just seemed a refreshing fruit popsicle would be on point.

You can of course juice anything you want. I have even tried asparagus! This is my personal favorite variety.

6 Full Size Carrots, Organic Preferred, slice to tit into a juicer
1 Whole Pineapple, Cleaned and Sliced to fit into a juicer
12 Popsicle sticks
1 ice tray

Juice both the carrots and pineapple. Pour both into a mixing bowl. Make sure the mixing bowl has a pouring nipple or spout. Pour the mixed juices into the clean ice tray. Take the sticks and lay into each ice shaped hole. I like how they freeze irregularly. As Johnny Colt advised you can stretch plastic wrap over the ice tray prior to inserting the sticks throough it so the treats will be perfectly straight.
Be sure to turn up Toledo while eating one. It makes sense.
